NY-based Mytek Audio has done some design work on the pro side, but founder Michal Jurewicz has really been pushing the envelope on the HiFi side of things as well. A son of scientists, Michal tackled the flaws of the digital playback realm with his DACs and all-in-one units. Now he takes another jump with a brand new pair of mono blocks in the $10k range.
The subtle footnote on the headline? The power amps are class D, an increasingly common occurrence for a field that is generally regards Class A to be the best. A further twist? It incorporates the new GaN tech that is rapidly coming to save the day for audiophile enthusiasts everywhere, well… according to some. In any case, Michal brings a huge wealth of information on both these subjects as well as his take on some of the more classic digital playback topics. Mr. Jurewicz is a scientist, and his approach to audio and listening in general makes for a great listen on this week’s episode of The Occasional Podcast.
